Your Questions Answered
DO I NEED TO WEAR GRIP SOCKS?
All our clients will be asked to wear grip socks. We feel this is the most effective way to train in a pilates studio. It helps to keep equipment hygienic and prevents any accidents especially when standing on the equipment. We sell a small collection of socks please ask at reception or one of the instructors.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Any comfortable clothing that you can move well in will be appropriate for pilates. We ask all clients to wear grip socks as these prevent accidents and ensure everyone enjoys their experience.
WHAT FACILITIES ARE THERE?
We have two well designed changing rooms with showers and lockers. Towels will be provided and there is of course a cafe to enjoy a smoothie or protein fix after your session.

WHY SHOULD I DO CLINICAL PILATES OVER FITNESS PILATES?
Clinical pilates can be a good choice when recovering after a significant injury or you need to adapt certain things due to a current injury. Our physiotherapists are specialists at modifying and adapting the positions or exercises to allow you to progress your rehabilitation and build upon your goals.
MAT VS REFORMER/EQUIPMENT?
The beauty about using equipment is that you get all the benefits of the mat based exercises and so much more. You are able to increase or decrease load or vary positions to create the perfect exercise mix for the individual.
PILATES VS YOGA
Yoga and Pilates can be very complimentary however they are often different types of exercise. Pilates can be modified to make exercises relatively easy or targeted to make them extremely challenging. Yoga is an excellent training tool and often focuses more on flexibility whereas Pilates is more about the control of movement.
